Arts Council England Environmental Programme
Julie’s Bicycle and Arts Council England (ACE) are working together to embed environmental responsibility across the cultural sector. Through this long-standing partnership, we support organisations and individuals with the tools, knowledge and skills to take meaningful climate action.
Since 2012, the programme has enabled hundreds of organisations to track their environmental impact, build resilience, and lead change across the arts and culture sector.
how we work together
The Environmental Programme responds to Arts Council England’s Investment Principles. Delivered by Julie’s Bicycle, it provides free reporting tools, training, and resources to help organisations understand their environmental impact and accelerate action.
Environmental reporting
We support National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Investment Principles Support Organisations (IPSOs) to track their carbon emissions and wider sustainability impacts through the Creative Climate Tools. These insights help organisations tell their environmental story and contribute to a collective understanding of climate action across the sector.
Training and skills development
Free training is available to support both individuals and teams – from climate justice to decarbonisation, governance, adapting to climate change resilience and more. Workshops, e-learning and events are designed to build knowledge, confidence and leadership.
