ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND: heatwaves impact survey

Has your cultural practice or arts organisation beed impacted by heatwaves? Arts Council England (ACE) is conducting a short impact survey examining operational challenges, financial implications, and the ways organisations are adapting. Insights gathered from cultural organisations will help shape sector support during periods of extreme summer weather.
CAN i live? FILM SCREENINGS
Join screenings in Gloucester and Edinburgh of Can I Live? — a powerful, tender film that weaves lived experience, climate reality, and the everyday courage of communities navigating inequality. Rooted in creativity and care, the film asks how we can hold both the weight of the crisis and the hope that emerges when communities imagine new futures together. It’s an opportunity for cultural practitioners, organisers, and anyone working towards a fairer, greener world to gather, reflect, and be inspired.
residency: Sea Change Animated Women

Screen Argyll presents Sea Change: Animated Women, a celebration of women animators whose work carries the tides of imagination, resilience, and environmental storytelling. This residency brings together filmmakers and films that honour our relationship with the sea — its power, its precarity, and the deep cultural connections it holds.

COOL OFF FOR CULTURE
Cool Off in Culture transforms cultural venues across the UK into a welcoming cooling network, offering refuge from rising summer temperatures with air‑conditioned spaces, shaded seating, or free water refills. From museums and theatres to heritage landmarks, participating venues create safe, accessible places for local communities to escape extreme heat — all clearly highlighted on our Cool Off in Culture map.

EarthPercent is recruiting a Head of Community and Comms, a pivotal role shaping how the music industry mobilises around climate justice. This position will lead community engagement, strategic communications, and storytelling that connects artists, organisations, and audiences with the urgent work of transforming the sector.

ITER returns in 2026 with an open call for artists and arts organisations to help shape sustainable, inclusive and just models for international touring. Now in its fifth year — and newly joined by Scotland — the programme supports participants to rethink touring practices through free online seminars, networking, and project funding of up to £30,000, while fostering collaboration between artists and companies in England, Denmark, Scotland and Norway to develop environmentally responsible and equitable approaches to working internationally.

Heritage adapts
Heritage Adapts is inviting heritage organisations to join a new national programme supporting the sector to build climate resilience rooted in justice, care and community. The initiative offers tools, guidance and collaborative learning to help sites understand climate risks, plan for adaptation, and strengthen the role heritage can play in a fair transition. It’s a chance for organisations to explore practical, place‑based responses to a changing climate while contributing to a growing movement for resilient cultural futures.
