connecting with people in place around future climate impacts
Over the last decade, the cultural sector has shown remarkable commitment to climate action. Deep, community rooted work has enabled organisations to surface local and global stories with projects and programmes focused on community gardening and food growing, supporting biodiversity and a shared drive for positive change.
But as the climate changes, what comes next? With hotter summers, flooding and wider environmental shifts already here, how can small organisations and creative independent practitioners expand their creative practice to work in community imagining, creating and disrupting the way things are, in response to climate futures and impacts?
This event asks us to move beyond minimising impact and to explore the role culture can play in building social resilience, so that communities are better prepared for our shared futures in place.
