Transforming Energy
Our Transforming Energy programme helps arts organisations take practical action on energy use, decarbonise their buildings, and move toward net zero. Developed in partnership with Arts Council England, it builds on the legacy of Spotlight (2018–2022) and supports National Portfolio Organisations and the wider sector.

Capital Investment Ready
This strand supports two cohorts of ten organisations to become capital investment ready and work toward full decarbonisation of a key cultural building by 2030. Meet the 2023-24 cohort and 2025-26 cohort of organisations receiving support.
Although applications are now closed, insights from participating organisations remain available to support others planning ambitious change.
— MAC BirminghamWe hope to be trailblazers for carbon reduction in arts venues and demonstrate what is possible with vision, dedication and optimism.
A legacy of leadership
Cultural organisations are leading climate action with creative, practical responses that centre people, planet and justice. If you’re starting your Transforming Energy journey, the Spotlight programme (2018–2022) offers inspiring examples of organisations that turned their bold ambitions into real-world change.
