Creative Climate Partnership Intern

INTRODUCTION

Berta is currently pursuing an MA in Cultural Management at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, with a focus on cultural policy, cultural rights, and sustainable development. She holds a BA (Hons) in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Leiden University, where she specialised in Culture, History, and Society. Her final thesis focused on the global inequalities and environmental injustice of the textile waste problem, bringing together her interests in sustainability and sociocultural processes. She is drawn to Julie’s Bicycle’s mission of connecting the cultural sector to climate action – a space she sees as essential for building the narratives and practices that sustainable development actually requires.

In her free time, Berta is an avid reader and enjoys cooking, though eating the food she makes is her favourite part. She is also an active person who enjoys running, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
