2025 was a busy and exciting year for the Julie’s Bicycle team as we connected in person and remotely to support creative climate action worldwide. Take a look at our key campaigns, programmes and collaborations that unfolded in 2025:
- After being selected to be part of the Changemaker Initiative we had inspiring conversations on the role music has to drive change with Billie Eilish fans inside the O2 part of her sold-out 6-night residency. Hear what they had to say when asked: How important is creative climate action to you?
- In partnership with Secretaria de Cultura we developed a guide to support regenerative practices within the sector, reflecting and celebrating the uniqueness of the Amazon region.
- JB co-led on We Make Tomorrow – a global campaign representing 1.5 million voices across 100+ countries united in climate action in the lead-up to COP30. Read our current progress report on the acceleration of the campaign since we launched in September.
- Building on this work, we also attended COP30 with the campaign, to boldly advocate for culture being at the heart of climate action. Take a look at our key takeaways from our time in Belem.
- We presented the results from the Green Events Code of Practice (GECoP) pilot which successfully adopted new environmental standards for outdoor events. Ten local authorities across England, including Bristol, Reading, Liverpool and Manchester, participated in the trial of 60 events across the UK with a combined capacity of 2.3 million people. - We curated Cerventino Festival’s first symposium on creative climate action in partnership with the British Council and the University of Guanajuato in Mexico.
- We became part of a new initiative to establish 10 Green Library Hubs across the UK over the next three years in partnership with CILIP, the British Library and CAG Consulting.
- We launched our first Creative Climate E-Learning platform for Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisation’s (NPO) to build the confidence to take action.
- We have continued to support 558 NPOs to report on their environmental data through our Creative Climate Tools.
- Our Conversations of Creative Climate Leadership podcast showcased work and activism from our exceptional Creative Climate Leadership network and gained over 2000 listeners in its first six months.
- To celebrate environmental stewardship within arts and cultural festivals in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the UK, we released Cultura Circular in Conversation hearing from several inspiring voices from the Cultura Circular programme, a network of practitioners committed to exploring creative, sustainable practices.
- Amongst our most read resources this year were The Creative Freelancer’s Climate Almanac – a seasonal directory for engaging in climate action and Communicating your Climate Action to share climate stories with confidence. Explore our resource hub for hundreds of free resources, webinars, guides and much more.
